What each guess is worth

Every round is one real 30-second record, and it simply plays. There is no length to choose. Your score is priced off how much of the record you have ever heard — and that number only ever goes up.

Pausing freezes the price — it tracks sound, not clock — and replaying is free, because it counts the furthest you have got, not where the needle is. Then it is multiplied by the song’s difficulty tier: an obscure track pays more than one everybody knows.
